Assam, India’s Guwahati, June 5 (ANI): The Center for Aviation, Tourism and Hospitality Studies at Guwahati International Airport hosted the opening ceremony of a 10-day Special Skill Development program for upgrading the skills of Guwahati International Airport taxi drivers under the Assam Skill Development Mission, Government of Assam, on Sunday.
The day began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, which was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiated by the managing director of the Assam Skill Development Mission, Ankur Jain, and the chief airport officer, Utpal Baruah.
At the opening ceremony, a large number of dignitaries from the relevant departments were present to increase the trainees’ motivation and rate of learning and upskilling in order to produce a strong trained workforce for the area in the upcoming years.
The chief airport officer, Utpal Baruah, spoke after IPS Ankur Jain at the opening address.
Nilotpal Kalita, district project manager for the Assam Skill Development Mission, and Dibyajyoti Borah, president of the Ideal Abhijan NGO in Jorhat, participated in the session, along with many other top officials.
More than 100 local taxi drivers, as well as other employees from the LGBI Airport in Guwahati, attended the occasion.
The Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) has been assigned by the state government with the job of upskilling all airport-area stakeholders within the next year and creating a recognized and stature-oriented skilled workforce in the Northeast state.
On a pilot basis, these projects are now being carried out. (ANI)
